Jean Paul Gaultier - FW1995 - Mad Max Vasarely Cyber dots Print Dress
This vintage Jean Paul Gaultier dress is from the Fall Winter 1995 collection called “Cavalières et Amazones des Temps Modernes”. This pattern and dress was on the runway, making it really special. Models such as Helena Christensen (here in the beige jumpsuit), Emma Sjoberg, Rossy De Palma wore it on the catwalk. To this day it is probably the most iconic collection he has ever put out. He placed his inspiration into Mad Max, worrier styling and strong women’s, Vogue even called it “The Best Collection Ever”. The cyber dot pattern has been inspired by Victor Vasarely, Op Art genus born in 1907. He was known for his paintings and sculptures tricking the eyes.
Over the years the body illusions created here by Jean Paul Gaultier have been worn by countless artist and celebrities including Fran Drescher (The Nanny), Siouxsie Sioux ,Lisa Nicole Carson (E.R), Mary Taylor Moore (Dick Van Show), Jorga Smith, Cardy B, Charli XCX.

The dress was originally purchased in Europe in 1995. The original owner was an “Oversea Club Kid”. This dress saw more dance floor than any European dress! #VintageMemories
