This vintage Vivienne Westwood bag is from the Fall Winter 1991 collection Called “Dressing Up”. The Putti print is a reference to the work "Swarms of cupid" by Jean Honoré Fragonard in 1767. You can see countless children floating in the clouds. This print was used on many pieces on the catwalk, it makes it really special and Vivienne herself wore it many times over the years.
The bag itself is made of canvas with a printed silk like fabric on top. Metallic gold is on the orb and inside is the most amazing gold leather I have seen. Almost 30 years old and still shines like the stars!
The clutch had many fun nights and there is marks on the bottom corners. Even though it could be fixed I consider this item a “collector’s treasure” and would leave it as it is.
